Have you ever seen declarer complimenting partner on a nice dummy that they just put down, and partner beaming with pride as if it were a flower bouquet personally arranged?
Coffs Harbour is a lovely beachside town of 80,000 and the players at the club are gracious like that. As anywhere they can sometimes be prickly, but I can honestly say there's not a single one of them I don't like. Mondays usually have a good turnout, and yesterday's was 16 full tables in two sections.
It was perhaps poor form, then, for me to tell partner "That's the worst dummy I've ever seen!" Fortunately partner knows me and has a sense of humor.
It's hard to have worse than a Yarborough with a trump void. The ♥9 might have been worth a trick except the tapping defense in diamonds left me unable to take advantage of it. Down one but still good for 69%.
Also remarkable is that I was declarer in 11 of the 27 deals, 41% of them. An entry fee well spent!
