2026 Country Teams Championship in Canberra July 7-9

Has anyone even heard of this new event? Even finding the event is difficult on the website https://www.myabf.com.au/events/congress/view/2739.
It’s called the
Sean Mullamphy Australian Country Club Teams Championship,
You contact ANC Organiser Lyn Carter 0402-077958 to enter.
Monday 06-07-2026 - 9:30am & 11:45am & 2:30pm & 4:45pm
Tuesday 07-07-2026 - 9:30am & 11:45am & 2:30pm & 4:45pm
Wednesday. 08-07-2026 - 9:30am & 11:45am & 2:30pm & 4:45pm
It’s followed by a Country Pairs Championship on 9 July and 10 July.
Rebate of $30 per player if you enter both events.
What seems to have happened is this…. While the various States do battle in the Interstate Teams Championship, they decided to run a simultaneous Country Teams Championship. 7 clubs from Southern NSW and 1 club (Ballina) from northern NSW have entered. If anyone from Coffs, Port Macquarie, Tamworth, Newcastle, Taree or interstate clubs or the like wants to enter, they could ring Lyn. I imagine that they wrote to clubs but many club secretaries did not let players know that the event exists. Or perhaps it’s too expensive? And Canberra in July is very cold.
More info is at https://www.myabf.com.au/media/congress ... ts2026.pdf.
To stop multiple teams entering from the same club, you ring Lyn Carter at 0402-077958 to enter,
The entry fees to these events and all the events at Canberra’s ANC seem rather high to me, by the way.
