We did this a lot - playing a 14-16 NT or a 11-13 NT. The only problem is it has such a huge impact through the rest of your system it is a huge amount of memory load for a pretty minimal advantage. I've seen a lot of people play that the accept shows exactly 3 cards, which seems to have a lot of utility (though, that said, I play the transfer acceptance shows a weak NT or 3 card support and no-where else to go, so I can play a 14-16 NT).
